Isolated workspaces
Every agent edits its own private workspace with a crash-safe journal. Nothing is visible to anyone else until it is explicitly published.
Cheap, isolated, stackable workspaces with explicit publication, first-class conflicts and evidence memory, built for agents and machines rather than people.
Gin is a Rust engine with one versioned API (gin.v1). You can reach it as an embedded library, through the gin command line, through a compact MCP server for agents, or over authenticated gRPC to a gin serve daemon. Every adapter sends the same requests and gets the same responses.
gin context # where am I: epoch, generation, parents, sections
gin read src/lib.rs --content # read the private tree
gin save --incarnation I --generation 3 --epoch E \
--path src/lib.rs --expect CONTENT_ID --text 'pub fn f() {}'Status
Gin is under active development. The first milestone is a Linux, headless slice. Durable stores currently need a Unix filesystem. See Getting started for details.
